intimacy. explores people's relationship with their personal digital devices like mobile phones, music players, cameras or alike.

Digital objects are personally owned, customized and privatized, they function as extensions of the human body and are closely worn to it. They demand considerable time and effort from its users, they are means of structuring and potentially changing people's everyday life. They constitute intimate spheres in public places, they enable the user to produce, record, and convey very personal statements, and–like the mobile phone–they extensively mediate intimate and interpersonal relationships.

intimacy. reflects this relationship with interviews, portraits and commentaries in a multilinear, interactive environment.

intimacy. is an essayistic documentary produced on DVD by Ulf Krautmacher. It is the final production work for the MA Multimedia at the University of East London.
